If you attempt to change the volume on your Samsung TV and it either does not work or stays at the level you last used, don’t be frightened; this is a very common problem with Samsung televisions. Here’s how to restore everything back to normal.
If the volume on your Samsung TV is not functioning or is stuck, you will need to reset the Smart Hub on the television. From the Settings menu on your remote, choose Support > Self Diagnosis > Reset Smart Hub and then press Enter. Enter the PIN for the television (the default PIN is “0000”). The reset process takes 30 seconds to finish. It seems that your volume is operational!
The Samsung Smart Hub is essentially a television-based app shop that you can customise. Performing a Smart Hub reset clears out all of the information in your account and resets all of the settings to their factory defaults. It is possible that you may need to resign in to some of your apps once you have completed this process.
To begin, press the Settings button on your remote. If you don’t have a Settings button, you may use the Menu button to access the settings menu. Proceed to Support, and then Self Diagnosis to complete the process. You should be able to choose Reset Smart Hub from the drop-down menu. Simply click on it.
You will be requested to enter the PIN number for your television. Unless you have already specified a value, this will be “0000.” Once the PIN is entered, the Smart Hub settings on your television will be reset. If you do this, your loudness problem should be resolved instantly.
Whatever happens, go to the following step and ensure that any useless applications are deleted! If you don’t, it’ll only be a matter of time until this volume problem comes again.
Following your successful reset of the smart hub, the very next step is to uninstall any applications that you aren’t presently utilising on your smartphone. The only way to ensure that your loudness problem does not recur is to complete this task!
Samsung TVs include automated upgrades that clutter up all of your memory with applications that have been downloaded on your behalf by the television manufacturer itself. To permanently resolve your volume problem, you’ll need to uninstall any unneeded applications.
In order to resolve this, you must first go to the “Apps” menu. This may be found in the bottom left-hand side of the home screen’s navigation bar.
Then from their go to Settings, which is located at the top right hand side of the screen (represented by a gear icon).
Using this menu, you may access and see all of the applications that have been downloaded to your Samsung TV. These were either included when you purchased your television or were added as part of an automated upgrade process.
In any scenario, you’ll want to go through each programme one by one and remove those that you don’t regularly use or wish to keep.
It should be noted that there are a number of applications that Samsung would not allow you to remove. These include, but are not limited to, Netflix, Hulu, Prime Video, VUDU, and other video-on-demand services. This is perfectly OK; just disregard these specific applications.
Following the successful restoration of your Samsung TV’s volume control, you may want to consider using solely the Samsung remote from that point forward. Do not use any other generic remotes, such as a cable remote, Xfinity, DirectTV, or any other similar device.
The procedures outlined above have been reported to have resolved the volume issue for many customers; but, as soon as they switch to a new remote, the volume issue restarts for those individuals.
The specific cause of this is unknown, however it’s possible that a signal from the generic remote is interfering with the signal from your Samsung TV remote, resulting in malfunctioning controls.
Consider just power cycling your television for a soft reset as a last resort for extra precaution. The majority of the time, this resolves occasional difficulties that arise from time to time. Simply disconnect your Samsung TV from the wall and wait around 30 seconds to complete the process.
Make sure to hit and hold the power button on your television for at least 10 seconds before plugging it back in again. Never use the power button on the remote control; instead, be sure it’s the power button on the real television!
A soft reset is achieved by draining any remaining power stored in your television and by allowing it to soft reset. Go ahead and plug your TV back in and that’s it!
In the event that you’ve followed all of the procedures above and you’re still experiencing volume problems or your volume is becoming stuck, it’s necessary to factory reset your Samsung TV.
A factory reset differs from the power cycling procedure described above in that it restores your television to its original factory settings without the use of any software. All of the information and settings on your television will be lost. As a result, this step has been moved to the bottom of the list of things to attempt.
If your Samsung TV volume is not working or is stuck, you need to reset the TV’s Smart Hub. Click Settings on your remote and scroll down to Support > Self Diagnosis > Reset Smart Hub. Enter TV’s PIN (default PIN is “0000”). Reset completes in 30 seconds
Increase the volume on the TV and/or your connected media device (streaming player, Blu-ray player, cable or satellite box, etc.). Check the audio settings on your TV and connected devices. Turn off and unplug your TV and connected devices. Inspect the TV cables and ports, then check the ones on your devices as well.
All Samsung TVs have a TV control button that will allow you to turn the TV on, change the volume and source input. Most TV models will also allow you to access the Smart Hub, Menu and Settings as well.
If the volume on your Samsung TV is not functioning or has been stuck, don’t be alarmed; this is a well-known problem with a reasonably simple solution.
First and foremost, you should reset the Smart Hub on your television. If you do this, your hub will be restored to its previous settings, and the volume problem will be resolved instantly.
If you want to go quickly, click to your applications settings and uninstall any programmes that you aren’t currently using. Samsung pre-loads a large number of these applications onto your television, and some of them are even added during automatic upgrades.
Unfortunately, these applications use important memory on your television, and if you do not free up this memory, you will most likely have the same volume problems again in the future.
You should try power cycling your television and then factory resetting it if you are still experiencing volume issues after following the instructions above.
